We are delighted to share our lab’s active participation in the 2025 Israeli Conference on Educational Research (ICER).
Prof. Maya Benish-Weisman, along with Prof. Miri Yemini and Prof. Ella Daniel, led a workshop on “Writing ERC Grant Proposals,” which provided valuable insights and practical guidance for researchers preparing competitive grant proposals.
In addition, Dr. Hanit Ohana presented the study “Aggression and Personal Values Adjustment in Immigrant Adolescents: A Longitudinal Examination of Reciprocal Associations,” which examined the relationship between personal values and aggressive behavior among immigrant adolescents. These relationships were found to have implications for the value development and social integration of immigrant youths.
Dr. Reut Nachoum presented the research “The Vicious Cycle of Maternal Depression and Controlling Parenting in the First Five Years: A Self-Determination Theory Perspective,” which examined how controlled childbearing motivations, meaning a sense of pressure or obligation to have children, can set in motion a cycle between maternal depression and controlling parenting across the child’s early years. This cycle was found to have implications for children’s socio-emotional adjustment five years later.
We are proud of our lab members’ contributions to ICER 2025 and grateful for the opportunity to share our work, learn from colleagues, and take part in advancing educational research in Israel and beyond.
